A damaged or corroded exhaust system causes excessive noise, increased emissions, reduced fuel efficiency, and MOT failure. JLR Autocare carries out exhaust repairs and replacements — from a simple clamp repair to a full system replacement, catalytic converter fitting, or lambda sensor installation. We service all makes and models at our Hitchin and Souldrop workshops.

Exhaust problems are one of the most common reasons for MOT failure. Excessive corrosion, blowing joints, and catalyst efficiency faults all result in a fail. If your vehicle has failed its MOT on an exhaust-related item, we can provide a competitive quotation for the necessary repair work.

We supply and fit exhaust components from quality manufacturers including Walker, Klarius, and BM Catalysts. For performance-oriented customers, we can also source and fit stainless steel sports exhausts and performance catalytic converters.

Lambda (oxygen) sensor failures are increasingly common and cause engine management warning lights, poor fuel economy, and increased emissions. We diagnose which sensor has failed using manufacturer-level equipment and replace it with a quality OE-specification unit.

For diesel vehicles with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) issues, we always attempt cleaning and regeneration before recommending replacement. However, when a DPF is beyond cleaning, we supply and fit quality replacement units that meet the correct emission standards.
