ADAS Calibration

Modern vehicles rely on cameras, radar, and lidar sensors to power safety features like autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. These systems — collectively known as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) — require precise calibration after windscreen replacement, bodywork repairs, or wheel alignment changes. JLR Autocare provides professional ADAS calibration at our Hitchin workshop using manufacturer-approved equipment.

ADAS calibration is not optional — it is a safety-critical requirement. If your windscreen has been replaced, your vehicle has had front-end bodywork repairs, or the wheel alignment has been adjusted, your ADAS cameras and sensors almost certainly need recalibrating. Driving with miscalibrated ADAS is dangerous — lane keeping assist could steer you into oncoming traffic, and autonomous emergency braking could fail to detect an obstacle.

We use manufacturer-approved calibration equipment that meets the exacting standards required by vehicle manufacturers. Our calibration process follows the precise procedures specified by each manufacturer, using the correct target boards, alignment tools, and diagnostic software.

Static calibration is performed in our workshop using precision target boards positioned at exact distances and heights specified by the manufacturer. Dynamic calibration requires a road test on suitable roads at specific speeds, with the diagnostic equipment monitoring sensor alignment in real-time.

ADAS calibration is increasingly required after routine work like wheel alignment and suspension repairs. If your vehicle has ADAS features and you have had any work that could affect camera or sensor positioning, please ask us about calibration.
